We would like to introduce our Master Fitter Philip Martin-Nielson.
Philip Martin-Nielson received his early training from respected coach Natasha Bar in Cornwall, New York who taught him his extensive knowledge in classical ballet. He was taught in the Russian technique with American speed. Under her guidance, Philip was awarded the gold medal at the Youth American Grand Prix. At 15, Philip was accepted to the prestigious School of American Ballet in NYC where he graduated in 2012.
Shortly after graduation, Philip became a professional dancer joining the world renowned “Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo” where he has performed principal roles en pointe in over 20 countries. With Trockadero, Philip has been featured in Pointe Magazine as well as been reviewed for his performances by the New York Times, The Guardian, Time Out Magazine and many more.
Philips background with fitting pointe shoes includes working in dancewear stores in NYC and has worked with students and professional dancers on finding a shoe to best suit their individual needs.
Philip is also a professional costume designer and has made tutus and tunics for many professional dancers and schools he makes custom costumes at affordable prices. He makes his costumes under the name of “Tutu Philipe”
Philip is currently rehearsing with the NYS Ballet for their upcoming virtual Nutcracker. His availabilty will be limited during this time.
